Substance Abuse Treatment

It’s okay, not to be okay.

No family goes unscathed by the traumatic experience of addiction. At the Synergy Health Center, we not only help the individual through the process of addiction by giving them tools in group and individual sessions. We provide overall family support to help educate them on the affects and impact of addiction. Our services include:

  • Intensive Outpatient Program (I.O.P.)
  • Relapse prevention
  • Substance abuse counseling
  • Support groups
  • Recovery coaches

Substance Use Treatment Group

A substance use support group aimed at helping individuals reach the next level.

  • Establish positive coping skills
  • Accountability support
  • Behavior modification
  • Positive habit building
  • Substance use awareness

Wednesdays from 1 p.m. - 2:30 p.m.

Intensive Outpatient Program

Intensive Outpatient Treatment (also known as IOP for “Intensive Outpatient Program”) is a primary treatment program recommended in some circumstances by a clinical and medical assessment. IOP may be recommended for those who do not need medically-supervised detox. IOP can also enable people in recovery to continue their recovery on a part-time yet intensive schedule, designed to accommodate work and family life.

IOP meets three times a week for three-hour sessions, but decreases in frequency as clinical milestones are met.

Relapse Prevention Group

They focus on the idea that relapse is a predictable, nonrandom event that is obvious to the therapist and other clients. The goal of these groups is to educate the client and identify the signs of relapse early so it can be prevented.

Topics involve

  • Shame, guilt, and resentment.
  • Finding appropriate uses of time.
  • Measures to build motivation.
  • Identifying triggers of relapse.
  • Building self-monitoring skills while downplaying the role of willpower.

Co-occurring Counseling

Mental health issues such as anxiety, trauma, or depression are often diagnosed along with addiction. Addressing any co-occurring mental health issues in conjunction with treatment for a substance use disorder is necessary.

Outpatient mental health care may include:

  • Mental health assessments
  • Individual and group therapy
  • Psychiatric consultation
  • Family therapy
